Day 01
Our journey begins in Waisai, heading through Kabui Bay and the Selat Kabui Passage. The western part of Waigeo is a protected nature reserve, sparsely populated with only a few small "kampungs" (villages) that may have a single homestay. In the northwestern region, there are no homestays at all.
The last village we pass is still 1.5 hours away from Wayag by boat — from that point on, you’ll enter a truly uninhabited and pristine part of the world.
We'll camp for one night on the beach at Wayag Island in small tents, surrounded by untouched nature. Please note: there are no toilet or shower facilities. It may not be the most comfortable night’s sleep, but it will be an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience — back to nature at its purest.
In the evening, our team will prepare a delicious meal for you right on the beach, made with local flavors. At night, you’ll see starry skies like never before.
Day 02
Today, we’ll hike up to two viewpoints: Puncak 1 and Puncak 2, offering breathtaking views over the lagoon. If you wish, we can bring a canoe so you can paddle through the calm waters. There will be time to snorkel in the crystal-clear sea and relax on the beach.
On the eastern side of the island is a visitor registration post and Shark Point, where you’ll have the chance to swim with reef sharks. Don’t worry — these sharks are harmless and used to visitors. It’s a thrilling and safe encounter.
On the way back, we’ll stay overnight at a local homestay in the western archipelago of Waigeo, giving us the opportunity to explore Aljui Bay and the surrounding area.
Day 03
We head back to Waisai, passing by a number of beautiful, deserted islands. There will be more opportunities to snorkel along the way. By late afternoon, you’ll be back in Waisai, ending the trip with unforgettable memories.
Bad Weather Refund Guarantee
Your safety and experience are our top priorities. Wayag is located in the far north of Raja Ampat, in the Pacific Ocean, where weather conditions can sometimes differ from other areas in Raja Ampat.
If we decide the Wayag Tour cannot take place due to bad weather, don’t worry!
We will automatically offer an alternative Island Hopping Tour, so you can still enjoy beautiful Raja Ampat.
You'll also receive a refund for the difference in price between the two tours.
This way, your adventure is protected — rain or shine.
Kindly note: We reserve the right to adjust the order of the itinerary days if needed.
About WAYAG ISLANDS
Wayag Islands is located in the northwestern part and is very remote. The distance to Wayag is approximately 150 km (4 to 5 hours) by boat and the sea can sometimes be rough during the last part. Sometimes the days need to be rescheduled due to weather conditions and there for Wayag is not accessible.
The months from June to September carry a higher risk of a few days of bad weather and bigger waves. So, make sure your schedule is flexible when planning to visit Wayag. We recommend staying at least 7 days in Raja Ampat during this period to allow for flexibility.
